I'm using this lens on a Nikon D200. Following destroying my 18-200mm Nikon VR I wanted a inexpensive "walkabout lens" that I could danger destroying as I do a good deal of industrial shooting exactly where it's straightforward to whack a lens. I bought this lens regardless of some less than glowing critiques. I really liked the self-contained style exactly where nothing changes length when zooming or focusing. I also liked the concept of it being f/2.8 at the wide finish. This lens has a boatload of chromatic aberration at wider settings which is it's chief drawback. I use Lightroom 2.6 and it is perfectly correctable which enhances its wide finish sharpness at the same time. This lens is sharp sufficient at all zooms stopped down just somewhat. It is really quite a surprise. I wouldn't attempt to make billboards with it, but it should print up to 12x18 having a small care in shooting. The optical stabilization on mine is truly extremely great and I'm impressed with how far it permits me to push the shutter speed on nonetheless life shots. (More Detail...)
